Adele

AdeleAdele Mara (April 28, 1923 until May 7 2010, 2010) was an American actress as well as a dancer and singer who was featured in films during the 1940s, 1950s and television in the 1950s and 1960s and later on. Adele St. Mara was her name professionally. She won an endorsement from Columbia Pictures [citation needed]. She had experience in comedy shorts and "B" features at the studio. This title was soon changed to Adele Mara. Mara began her professional career as a receptionist in the Three Stooges movie I Can Hardly Wait. Mara and Leslie Brooks played the sisters of Rita Hayworth's character in the Fred Astaire film You Were Never Lovelier. She is the character Alias Boston Blackie (1942) as the sister of a wrongfully accused and escaped convict. She moved to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was ended. There she worked in films based on westerns and outdoor adventures. She appeared in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch starring John Wayne, Angel In Exile (leading woman), Sands of Iwo Jima in which John Agar was John's love interestwas played by her, California Passage as well as Don Siegel's Count the Hours.
